UUA Statements of Conscience:  Approved UUA Statements of Conscience become “official” UUA policy, to be supported by the Association and by individual Unitarian Universalists according to their consciences, priorities and means.

Our job: Each congregation has an opportunity to provide input to the fashioning of a Statement of Conscience.  Within the  congregation input can come from our Denominational Affairs Committee,  a Social Action/Justice Committee,  from a Post-Sermon discussion, or a Congregational meeting.

The current Statement of Conscience now awaiting comment from us is: "Ethical Eating"  Issue:

UUA Study/Action Issues:  The Congregational Study/Action Issue is an invitation for congregations and districts to take a topic of concern and confront it, reflect on it, learn about it, respond to it, comment on it take action—each in their own way. A CSAI is NOT a statement—it is a question.

The current Congregational Study/Action Issue now awaiting comment from us is: "Immigration As A Moral Issue "   Migration of people—driven by economic, social, political and environmental factors—is taking place around the world. Millions are currently in transit, in refugee camps, in detention centers, or living and working in places without full legal status and without access to social services or protection of civil rights.

Please forward your comments on this pending Congregational Study/Action issue to Michael Stiffler for submission to the UUA Commission on Social Witness for their work in preparing a draft Statement of Conscience.
